Sir Clive Woodward: the DNA of a champion

Posted by Jenni Armstrong on 12 July 2013

Talent alone is not enough.

Fresh back from the British and Lions Rugby Union tour of Australia, this week Sir Clive Woodward joined Squared Online in his first ever online talk – streamed live to an audience of Squared Alumni.

The talk, which was introduced by Google Sales Director Dominic Allon and delivered to a live audience of senior marketers in addition to the online attendees, highlighted the key attributes and qualities Sir Clive believes all champions exhibit in both business and sport.

As the British Olympic Association’s Director of Sport for the London 2012 Olympic Games and as Head Coach of the Rugby World Cup winning England team in 2003, Sir Clive has over twenty years of experience of working with both elite athletes and teams to achieve peak performance, as well as 18 years experience in business.

He is better versed than most in understanding what is required for success.

Using videos and anecdotes from his usage of data and player tracking and his experience in three Olympic Games, Sir Clive provided an entertaining insight into his philosophy of taking individuals from merely talented to realising their full potential.
